Most people searching for a villa near Murcia end up in the Campo de Cartagena, the wide agricultural plain between the city and the coast. It is where the golf resorts were built, and it is close enough to both the airport and the lagoon to make a car optional rather than essential.

Within that area the choices divide roughly into three: resort villas with shared pools and facilities, village houses in places like Roldán and Balsicas, and coastal apartments around Los Alcázares.
